Tengo un boleto de avion!!

I booked my ticket!! I will be leaving on December 29th, 2008 and will be able to make it there in time for Inca Links conference, Quito 09! My mom's cousin, Diane, and her husband will also be flying down a few days earlier to visit their grandkids and Margarita. For those of you who don't know the story, one of Diane's son, Ryan, has two children from Ecuador with Margarita. Due to an unfortunate accident, Ryan passed away while climbing the Aconcagua Mountains near Mendoza, Argentina. He died of high altitude pulmonary edema, a serious life threatening emergency condition brought about by the effects of increase in altitude. Since Ryan's death, Margarita and the children lived in NY with Diane and Bob for the past 3 years and just recently moved back to Quito. I am very excited to meet Margarita and the kids, Emi and Andres, and be able to spend time with Bob and Diane during their visit. I have already spoken to Margarita, Emi and Andres on the phone and look forward to having them all help me with learning Spanish! They are all very excited to be able to work on their English as well! :)

On top of having family fly down in December as well, my friend, Lisa, will be joining Inca Link for the Quito '09 conference as well! It definitely makes me feel much more comfortable hopping on a plane and flying to a foreign country when I know I will be welcomed by familiar faces and arms! I've been amazed watching God orchestrate all the details of this trip! He knew exactly what I would need to make it all happen! Praise God!
